Motorola to lay off 4,000 this year

The beleaguered manufacturer is no stranger to financial struggles at this point — nor layoffs, for that matter — but the latest round cuts some 6 percent of employees from Moto’s global operations, and 3,000 of the 4,000 will come directly from the handset division. (Engadget)

Motorolling them right out the door

Advice to Moto….get beyond the Razr.  It had a nice run, time to innovate.  Abandon your proprietary OS initiatives and move to Android and/or Symbian.  Perhaps you’ll have a shot at staying in the cell phone business.  It’s a long shot, but still a shot!
